Our Story
The Story of Sidharth Joseph
Sidharth Joseph — known to family and friends as "Sid" — was a 20-year-old medical student with his whole life ahead of him. He lived with epilepsy, and in 2020 his life was cut short by SUDEP (Sudden Unexpected Death in Epilepsy).
In the aftermath, his family asked a difficult question: could a young life that ended too soon help another young life go further? The Sidharth Joseph Foundation was their answer.
Our Journey
Why Both Missions
Education and healthcare are not separate causes for SJF — they are two expressions of the same belief. Sid's own life, as a medical student who lived with epilepsy, sits at the intersection of both.
Education is the pathway out of poverty for girls whose futures would otherwise be decided by circumstance.
Healthcare protects the chance that education creates — no family should have to choose treatment based on cost.
What We Believe
To give children whose futures are limited by poverty real access to education and healthcare — the two foundations of an independent life.
A future where no child's potential is limited by their family's financial circumstances.
Dignity • Opportunity • Education • Healthcare • Independence — in every program we run.
